Tuesday, June 1st at 10:15 I had my last prenatal appointment. I didn't actually think it was my last one, it just happened! I got to the doctors office and has to pee real bad, I had to wait in line because there were other pregnant ladies needing to pee too. My doctor was sitting right there at her desk eating cherries and said we needed to get that baby out byt the looks of it. I agreed! Because I feel like I am carrying twins! Ugh! Our ultrasound was scheduled for this coming Thursday at 1:30pm, but she had her nurse call downstairs and get it changed to 11am that day! Right after my doctors appointment! She has a seminar to go to and she said she didn't want to be bording the plane and then the office call her and say I'm having a 11 pounder! So anyways, as I was waiting the nurse had me get my weight and then let me pee and took me back to room 503. She took my blood pressure and it was 168/94. Which was very high! And then measured LO in my belly and said I was 41! She said if she had a needle she could just pop me lol. She checked for LO's heart beat and it ended up being 189 or something like that. Too high. I tried to stay calm but I was pretty nervous! She said I only gained one pound. Which gaining one pound a week is normal, and always makes me feel better. So the doctor finally came in and asked me if I was seeing blind spots or having head aches, I figured this was normal and said yes. I mean I have been for weeks now. Anyways she started to look kinda nervous and said she was going to send me upstairs for lab work and then downstairs for the ultrasound. She checked me cervix, it was 2cm, 50% effaced. And she stripped my membranes.. OUCH! She said if lab work came back on the iffy or negative side she was goign to induce me that night or in the morning, as long as the baby is looking big on the ultrasound too. So I went upstairs, had blood taken, then went outside to wait for Derek to get to the doctors office so he could be there for the ultrasound. Little Emily ended up being BIG Emily, they estimated her to be 8lbs, 9oz. It could be off by a pound either way. So she could be 9 pounds or more! Let's hope, it is more like 7 pounds! lol. Anyway, within about 20 minutes of leaving the ultrasound, Derek and I were sitting down at Subway eating some lunch and the nurse called and told us to be at Labor and Delivery in the morning at 7am!! Holly crap! She was actually going to be here! AHHH!!!
So we finished up lunch, Derek went back to work, and I got some things at Wal-mart we would need for the hospital, mailed off thank you cards for our baby shower, and then headed home to get ready for our induction. I ended up cleaning the kitchen, laundry room, bathroom, bedroom, living room. Pretty much everything! I also packed all of our bags and had everything sitting at the door waiting to be put in the car! I had some time to relax and put my feet up for about 30 minutes. It's had when your nesting, cuz there is always something to be done!
So after a crazy day, Derek's mom and brother came to pick me up and take me to Texas Roadhouse for "Amy and Matt's Big Dinner!" They were going to tell everyone if they were having a boy or girl! Derek just met us there since he works less than a mile away from the restaurant and there was no need for him to drive all the way home, get me and drive all the way back. Or for me to take an extra car and have two cars on the south side. So anyways, we got there and chatted with friends and family ab out our induction tomorrow, sat down to eat, and Amy and Matt revealed the gender!!! They are having a BOY!!! I am so excited for them! I know that is what they wanted, and I am so happy that Derek's parents will now be grandparents of both a little girl and little boy! Emily's little cousin is due around October 18th. Yay! Gotta love babies!!!
Well that is really all I have to write right now. It's 3:30am and I can't sleep... because our induction is in 3 and a half hours! Ahh!! I guess I can try to get some more sleep though. Might as well! Gotta get up in two hours, so hopefully I can take a 2 hour cat nap. We are bringing Derek's brothers' laptop to the hospital so I am sure I will be bumpin and posting all day long! Wish me luck everyone!!!

37 weeks
Derek had to work this weekend, so we only got to spend Saturday evening together and then all of Sunday. But since he did work Saturday he gets this Friday and Saturday off and his work is closed monday for memorial day weekend! Woohoo! 4 day weekend! We found out that his dad will be in Texas from today til Friday night, then he leaves again for another week next monday and comes back next friday. So although I want her here really bad I do kinda hope she waits til the weekend so she can meet her Grampy!
Yesterday was pretty great I must say, we ate breakfast at home together, Derek mowed the lawns and cleaned out the gutter and then he and I went and got some lunch at Subway. Went over to his parents house and hung out with his parents and brother for awhile and said bye to his Dad. We got some much needed blizzards at dairy queen and then went to the grocery store and got some things for the week and some stuff for dinner and made hot dogs and corn on the cob and beans and potato salad. We got stuff for smores but we were too full so we will have those tonight! Yum! A little TMI coming up.. after eating outside in 80 degree weather we were so sticky and gross that we took an amazing shower together.. and it's funny because we haven't done that in months, because we used to be able to slide past each other in the shower but now my belly is too big and doesn't allow it lol.
Anyways, I am getting a head ache from the heat and being ont he computer, so I am going to go watch TV. =)

**Total weight gain/loss: I have gained a total of 37 lbs! I lost some weight, woohoo lol

**Sleep: Ugh, last week I was lucky to say i was getting sleep. Now I don't even get to dream of sleep. Sleep is non existent, Derek needs to head to the couch so I can have the whole bed =) lol
**Best moment this past week: Free Tiramisu for dinner since I was preggers, and Derek and I made hot dogs and corn on the cobb last night and ate outside next to a mini fire. It was so awesome! I also got to see my sister and shop around at the childrens store with her. Oh yea.. had my cervix exam last week and I was 1cm dilated and about 30% effaced. Progress is better than nothing =)
**Movement: Still the same, between 10 and 11 at night and then little movements throughout the day. i think she's getting pretty snug though, her movements are pretty mild.
**Food cravings: Corn on the cob... yummmmmmmy!
**Gender: Girl!
**Labor Signs: The cha cha cha's today, nauseous, loosing appetite, very sore and crampy feeling. I hope she comes this week!
**Belly Button in or out? Out slightly.. it tends to change day to day. Same!
**What I am looking forward to: My appointment tomorrow. Had my first cervix exam last week and I was 1 cm dilated and about 30% effaced. I know you can walk around like this forever, but I hope not, i hope she says i'm at least 2cm dilated tomorrow! =)
**Milestones: hmm.. well, induction date will be June 7th if she isn't here yet, and that is exactly 2 weeks away =) So yay! At least I know she'll be here in two weeks!

36 Weeks!
I know, I know, I haven't written on here in quite sometime. I can't make excuses and say I have been busy, because God knows, I have NOT been busy. I think the more I write the more I think about our little one being born and it gets me so anxious! So let's see.. I should probably update you on anything that has happened in the past couple weeks.
Well our baby shower was May 1st. Derek's parents threw it for us. It was amazing! I had no idea how generous everyone was going to be. We received so many things. It was so awesome! We sorted through everything the next day and picked out things that we didn't need or had too much of and took it back to get correct sizes and things we will be needing. I think total we have only spent 500-700 dollars on little Miss Emily. That includes all of her furniture and EVERYTHING! So we must say, EVERYONE was VERY generous!
So for the past two weeks or so we've been buying anything baby that we know we need and getting ready for our little pride and joy. I don't think there is anything we have forgotten yet. I am sure we will be buying things we had no clue about once we get out of the hospital. I plan on breastfeeding for the first month if not pumping exclusively. No formula for this little girl! I hope it works out this way because I really would love to have her on breast milk only. It's not that formula is expensive or anything, it's just that I know the advantages of breast milk and I want Emily to have the very very best!
Well I am 36 weeks today. And as far as we know she won't be here for at least another week, maybe two or three. But I am definitely ready for her. At our 20 week ultrasound she had measured 2 weeks bigger but they never changed her due date, and then the past 2 appointments my belly has been measuring big.. so in all honesty I think I am 38 weeks. But it's not for sure. So we will just see her when she arrives I guess. We have an ultrasound on June 3rd to measure her and see how big she is, I will supposedly be 38 weeks and 3 days along that day so really I hope she comes before then. If not they will induce me on the 7th. I feel like i am going to go insane.. all I do is write on the bump or facebook and watch baby story... I clean the house every other day and sit in Emily's room day dreaming of what it will be like when she is here. I really want her here. I'm going crazy!
Well Baby story just started and laundry just went off so I got to get back to work.
**How far along? 36 weeks as of today, May 17th, 2010
**Total weight gain/loss: I have gained a total of 42 lbs! Ouch!
**How Big is Baby?: Probably around 6 lbs.
**Maternity clothes? Yes and they are getting smaller and snugger. I hope I can last the next couple weeks without buying any more clothes! I want to buy non maternity clothes again!
**Stretch marks? Yes... They suck!
**Sleep: Besides getting up 3 times a night to go to the ladies room, I'm sleeping okay.
**Best moment this week: Yesterday morning I woke up to homemade waffles with strawberries and whip cream on top.. AND FLOWERS! I love my husband!
**Movement: Emily moves all the time! Her favorite time to bounce around is between 10-11pm at night. Usually when I am on the computer she bounces around too.. I think it's the noise of me typing on the keyboard that distracts her.
**Food cravings: Waffles with Strawberries and Whip cream. Mcdonalds Caramel Frappe's and fresh fruit!
**Gender: Girl!
**Labor Signs: Braxton Hicks, light headed and sleeplessness... I pray these are all labor signs. I want her here!
**Belly Button in or out? Out slightly.. it tends to change day to day.
**What I am looking forward to: My appointment tomorrow. You wouldn't think I am excited for a cervix exam because they do suck, but I really wanna know if I am progressing at all. I sure hope so! The doctor also said she is measuring bigger, so our due date could be off =)
**Milestones: 1 more week until Full Term!!

Monday!
I got tons done today! I woke up to my sis calling, and talked to her for awhile. And then got out of bed, ate breakfast, and got ready to leave the house. First I had a breastfeeding class at Jordan Valley. You have to attend classes through WIC if you want to get checks for free food while your pregnant. So I started with breastfeeding, because that is really important to me! After I went to that and got my checks, I went and paid the car payments, loan, and credit card. I went home and grabbed the blinds for Emily's room that didn't fit and took them back to Big lots. Grabbed 5 bags of pink m&m's for the shower. And went to Walmart to grab a smaller size of blinds for her room. I also went to Hobby Lobby and got all my stuff for the shower favors and even my Thank you cards.
Not going to lie, I feel accomplished! I never get so much done in one day. Now if only I could get my laundry done! Along with the house cleaning that is piling up! The kitchen, office, bathroom and bedroom are all a clutter. Along with the hallway and floor of the bathroom and bedroom, they are covered with clothes that need to be washed! I am wondering when this nesting thing will begin? Because I would love a spotless house. It seems like the only way to have a clean house is to make a to-do list for myself and just go down the list and get it all done in one day. I can't ever just spread it out throughout the days. I just have to get in that cleaning mood and do it. Blah! Oh well! As long as Derek and I both have clothes to wear,i say to heck with it =)
Well that's all for today! I am goign to try to get one signle load done before Derek get's home.

A day with the sick hubby!
Woke up at 6am today to my hubby asking me where the thermometer was. He found it right as I was getting out of bed, he had already taken a shower and gotten ready for work but he's been feeling pretty crappy and achy lately, his temperature ended up being over 100 degrees. Poor guy. So he stayed home today. Which for him sucks, but for me was GREAT! Because I had my buddy with me all day! Even though I catered to his sickness and made him breakfast lunch and dinner and brought him medicine and sprite and water all day, it was a GOOD day! I love catering to that man. He's so amazing. I can't imagine life without him! I would take care of him everyday if I had to. It just reminds me of how much I am going to love being a mom!
So after he ate his breakfast and watched tv he took a nap and I finished up some cleaning around the house, went to the grocery store and then grabbed us some lunch at Panera! Gotta love soup and sandwiches for a sickness! I can't believe 2 sandwiches, and two soups cost $27 bucks! Isn't that just a little crazy? To me it is, but I did't complain when I sunk my spoon into my mac and cheese and drooled a little at the first bite! Oh yes, Panera had mac and cheese... and it's the best ever, white cheddar with shells in a bread bowl... a bread bowl of yummyness let me tell ya! So after stuffing our faces, Derek ended up wandering into the bedroom to lye down again and he watched some "baby story" episodes with me. I swear, seeing that man look at babies on tv will sink your heart! The love he has for babies is honestly a great love, his baby girl still has 8 to 9 more weeks of baking to go! But once she is here I have a feeling she's going to wrap her little hand around his finger and never let go.
Ahh yes, so after all of our fun of baby story and all that a took a stroll to the back patio and laid out in the sun to get some color on this albino skin! I sat my alarm for one hour, and wa lah, color there is! I'd have to say there is a tint of red to the color, but i'm not worried about it, I will take what I can get! I tanned the belly for a little bit too. I don't know if she liked it or hated it because she was bouncing all over the place! So i covered her up pretty quick just in case she was getting hot. Can't have a boiled baby in May or June now can we!?
So Easter was Sunday, and I am pretty sure I forgot to mention some news we got!!! Derek's sister in law and brother Amy and Matt are 12 weeks pregnant with their first born. So that's exciting. I think the due date is somewhere around October 18th. So we will have two little baby owens before the holidays! So great! Emily will have a cousin to play with! I was shocked, I honestly thought they were going to adopt, so it came to us as a great surprise. But a wonderful one! We couldn't be more happier for them! GOTTA LOVE BABIES!!! I'm not sure how many babies that makes it for 2010, but a lot!!! My friend Mandy had hers in January, Amber is getting induced this Saturday (Derek's Birthday), I am due June 14th, My friend Laura is due the beggining of July, along with my sister and Sarah. And then we have Amy's baby in October... I think there are more, but I can't count them all! Goodness 2010 is a baby booming year i'd say!!!
Well it's 7pm on a Wednesday night, and I am just as bored as i can get. I already made derek his raman noodles, and got him a big glass of water. I did the dishes and laundry. I did all the grocery shopping. Derek's birthday presents are all wrapped. I just can't think of what else to do. I guess I will feed myself and the growing munchikin inside of me. Other than that, I think I will continue to be bored =)
Talk to you all tomorrow or who knows when!

30 weeks, 1 day
Ok so as you all know I am having a girl, and a lady walked right up to me yesterday after my doctor appointment, put her hand on my tummy and said, it's a girl, and I was like yep, and she was like you know how I know? I was like how? She said all your acne, she's taking the beauty out of you... What the heck is that about? I mean yes I have acne, it's not very noticeable to be honest, I cover it quite well and it really started showing improvement this week with my new neutrogena scrub I got. Was that supposed to be a compliment or a slap in my lovely acne face? I mean honestly if she would have said hey your ass is huge it's a girl I probably wouldn't have cared. But really, i'm loosing my beauty, thanks stranger!
Well now that we go that out of the way lol... I had my 30 week appointment yesterday and I had started spotting Sunday night, and have been continuing to spot since then. I told my doctor about it, but she said it's nothing to worry about since it's not a ton.. yet... worried me a bit, but whatever. She said to rest and drink plenty of fluids. So that's kinda what i've been doing. Well trying, but I get restless really quick! So i did some laundry and now I am just lying around being lazy. It's funny, watch the weight but don't do anything, well what do you expect! lol
On a better note.. my lovely friend Amber will be induced on Saturday, Derek's 23rd Birthday! I may just have to bring her some ice cream cake from his party =) Of course after her beautiful little boy Zane is born! I'm so excited for them I can't handle it! They will be the best parents ever, and I'm so glad she is 9 weeks ahead of me, because this means she can tell me all the tips and tricks with the baby and what to do or what not to do. Yay! I now just have to think of what to bring her and her hubby and their little man... hmm.. flowers for her, stuffy for Zane, and something funny for Chris i think. We will see! I will go shop around Saturday while Derek is working, i have to get him some birthday stuff anyway.
Well the hubby is going to be home soon and i look like a big pile of crap so I better freshen up a tad so he doesn't think he married a scrunge. I will talk more laters!

29 weeks & 1 day
Nothing much going on around here. Let's see, we got the baby shower invites ordered and filled out for Derek's mom. They turned out pretty cute. We finished painting and putting the changing table together finally. Still have the glider and ottoman to paint. We received our silver dollar city passes this past week, I am definitely looking forward to taking little Miss Emily to Branson in the stroller. A beautiful red mercedes got traded in at Derek's work and I really want it. I will keep my fingers crossed! I babysat Abbie last night and slept fantastic! Came home, ate some cereal and slept a little longer. I could get used to these naps.. but Emily will be here in a couple months, so i won't lol. Hmm.. what else???
Oh yes, Derek and I made some "Parental decisions," we decided that if anyone is to babysit Miss Emily, they have to come to our house to babysit, even if it's for thirty minutes or an hour. We both feel way more comfortable if she is at home with familiar surroundings. And everything will be here at our house so really no one needs to watch her anywhere else. Sometimes you just have to stand up for yourself and be parents. Glad we have made these decisions!
Nursing school starts in January, I plan on going although Derek and I have talked about me waiting until August of next year so I don't miss out on our little girl growing up. But I feel like I keep putting it off longer. And I really just want to start and get it done with. I would be working days and going to school until about 8-9 at night. But I would have weekends off. I think homework would be the most difficult part, because my days off would probably consist of homework and not play time with hubby and baby. So I am thinking work full time, school part time, even if I just took two classes the first semester? Then I could have plenty of time for homework and still have time with my loved ones. I think this sounds like a decent plan. I really don't want to put school off for an entire year! I've put it off since 2006! I have a lot of thinking to do!
Well I have some birthday shopping to get taken care of for the hubby. I better hop in the shower and get started!
